Metropolitan Police Department 5th District 2nd In-Person Appearance
On February 24th, I came back to the MPD 5th District to follow up on the email I sent to Officer Sibrian last week. He hasn't replied.
Me: "Excuse me, I'm here to see Officer Sibrian regarding a follow-up."
Another Officer: "Officer Sibrian is busy handling another case. Is there something I can assist you with?"
Me: "No worries! I can wait."
(30 minutes later)
Officer Sibrian: "How can I help you?"
Me: "Yes, I was wondering if you received the email I sent you last week?"
Officer Sibrian: "Yup! I received it. But, I’m no longer handling that case. It's been assigned to an MPD Detective."
Me: "Oh, okay. Do you know who the detective is?"
Officer Sibrian: "I don't have that information right now."
Me: "Well, I have the audio recording I mentioned before. Would it be possible to get an official police report now?"
Officer Sibrian: "No, I still won't be creating an official report. Here's a 'Misc Report' that acknowledges a possible incident."
(Officer Sibrian hands over the "Misc Report")
Me: "So... that's it? I don't understand what my options are now."
I left the police station feeling completely helpless and without any idea of what to do next. I still haven't heard anything about their investigation.
Summary
On February 24th, I returned to the MPD 5th District to follow up on the email I sent to Officer Manuel Sibrian a week prior, which he hadn't responded to. After waiting about 30 minutes, I was told that Officer Sibrian was no longer handling the case and that an unnamed MPD Detective was now in charge.
I asked Officer Sibrian if he could provide an official police report at this point, especially since I had evidence. He refused to create one but gave me a 'Misc Report' that briefly mentioned a possible incident.
I left the station feeling helpless and unclear about my next steps. To date, I haven't received any information about the investigation's findings.
