Hello Lorem Ipsum Dolor ,

Thanks for your follow-up query/request concerning red light cameras:

Thank you for your prompt response.

Upon reviewing your reply, I realize I should have been more specific in my initial request.

While I understand that MPD may not operate CCTV footage at the location, I would like to clarify that I believe your agency does manage red light safety cameras at the intersection of New York Avenue and Florida Avenue NE, Ward 5, S/N 17 Code 264.

The incident I am referring to occurred on February 8, 2025, around 12:29:40 PM EST, involving a black Dodge Charger or a similar muscle car. I would like to request any available footage from the red light cameras in operation at that time.

My goal is to obtain footage that may assist in identifying the vehicle and the individual involved, particularly given that I was unable to obtain the license plate number at the scene.

Thank you again for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your response and am happy to provide any further details if needed.

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) does not operate the red light cameras in the District of Columbia (DC); therefore, the MPD has no records responsive to this follow-up FOIA request.

The DC red light cameras are operated by the District Department of Transportation (DDOT).

You may wish to submit a new FOIA request to that agency in the DC FOIA portal:
https://myfoia.dc.gov

A statement of FOIA appeal rights/procedures has previously been provided.

Sincerely,

Bob Eckert
FOIA Specialist
